Used sidecars and outfits for sale February 2016
The bike is a 2009 Kawasaki Versys 650. It is low mileage at around 8000 miles (1500 of which were done on the trip).
It has bark buster handguards, heated grips, touring MRA screen, winter tyres (covered 1500 miles) it has been lowered to make for better outfit handling.
The bike has a new road legal after market exhaust system to free up some power, we have remapped the fuelling to suit this exhaust and remove the fluffiness associated with modern fuel injected bikes.
We serviced the bike before the Elefant trip and it performed flawlessly, returning a 160 mile tank range at 70mph on the autobahn.
The outfit will cruise at 75 to 80mph quite happily and accelerates well. It is very comfortable to ride, all day long.
The outfit has no wheel wobble and the steering is so light that it can be managed with one hand.
The sidecar is based on our own frame, with a roller bearing mounted swing arm and Hagon shock absorber.
It has a large waterproof aluminium box with a locking lid which opens almost vertically giving good access inside for all your expedition packing (or shopping).
Inside the box is a second battery with a split charge relay system, this powers the top quality Rigid Industries LED flood and spot lights mounted on the body
and also the usb charging points built into the battery box. There is also an action camera mount on the body.
On the outside are mounted twin fuel and water containers made by Rotopax.
We have changed the black steel mudguard for an orange plastic one, since returning from the trip.
Most importantly, it has large orange vinyl elefant decals applied front and rear and a highly prized genuine, limited edition 60th anniversary Elefantentreffen sticker!
For the person who does not need to carry a passenger, this is a superb outfit, perhaps for rallies, long distance touring or for your own expedition.
For those that find the huge capacity of the body insufficient, we can by negotiation, provide a set of genuine Versys colour matched panniers and a Givi top box.
The price of this superb touring outfit is £7200.
SOLDHere we have a lovely Triumph Legend TT, 1999 with 26,000 genuine miles.
The bike is very tidy, has a new battery, Baglux tank cover, new heated grips and a Scottoiler.
It will have a new MOT when sold.
These bikes have a very high build quality and are becoming sought after because of this. The triple engine, 900cc, is an absolute joy.
The sidecar is a UK Velorex Sport, correctly fitted and setup by us new last year and has not been used at all since. It has only covered delivery mileage.
It has a tonneau, lockable boot area behind the seat, boot rack, sport screen and is carpeted.
The outfit is great to ride, light steering even with a passenger, well balanced.
Ready to go, and very striking to look at.
